In 2012, young artistes will have an opportunity to really showcase themselves.
Randy Glasgow- the promoter who never fails to bring us the Ladies Night Out annual carnival event, is promising to deliver Youth Fest to patrons and young artistes alike, in the season ahead.
He said after analyzing the musical atmosphere in Trinidad and Tobago he made the decision to re-introduce Youth Fest, which was shelved in 2007. Glasgow said there is currently a new wave of young artistes who he feels have a lot of good material and as such, he is making a platform available to their benefit.
Explaining that the soca platform was used by artistes such as Bunji, Fay Ann, Maximus Dan and even 3Suns as a vehicle to move from one stage to another, he lamented that today’s budding musicians lacked the proper forum by which they could truly get their music heard by large audiences, including promoters.
So with that realized, Glasgow is bent on bringing back Youth Fest into carnival. He said the show will take place on February 4th, from 2pm- 10pm and it will be held at the Queen’s Park Savannah.
